After putting up video game like statistics all season long, Patrick Towles led Highlands to their fifth straight state title.
Now, Towles is getting recognized for his accomplishments.
Thursday night Towles was named Kentucky’s Mr. Football by The Associated Press after throwing for 3,820 yards, 42 touchdowns and one interception during HIghlands’ perfect season. For his career, Towles tossed for 7,429 yards and 73 scores.
Towles was also part of the Kentucky All-State First Team Offense, along with teammate, wide receiver Austin Sheehan. Teammates Devin Bruns and Drake Bruns were both named to the First Team Defense.
The Mr. Football and All-State honors come after Towles was just recently named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Kentucky and winner of the Paul Hornung Award, given out annually to the state’s top player by the Louisville Quarterback Club in honor of Hornung, an NFL Hall of Famer from Lousiville.
