We have grown a lot over the last six months here at NKSB.
A combination of the new site design, better coverage with the addition of Ryan Suckow and various other factors contributed to the spike in traffic we’ve had. The site now receives over 12,000 hits a month and it continues to grow daily.
We’ve realized a huge part of the improvement in coverage has had to do with our video highlights this football season. You guys have enjoyed watching the videos… or you hated watching the videos but you continued watching them anyways. We know this because our YouTube videos have received over 51,000 views.
The videos are great not only because it’s fun to watch or show to friends, but it also gives the student-athletes some quality highlights to send to college coaches. In fact, some coaches are now contacting NKSB for information and more video on certain athletes. That’s why we started this site… To promote the student-athletes in the Northern Kentucky area – A high school sports community rich with tradition but lacking exposure.
We get out to a lot of games and we shoot video at all of them. We are going to do the same thing for basketball season. But we could get out to a lot more and shoot a lot more video highlights if both Ryan and I could split up and shoot at different games. The problem is we are both broke post graduates, who do not get paid anything for this blogging endeavor. We’d love to add another camera for basketball season and are shooting for an HD camera similar to our current model to keep the video consistent and high quality.
We’re hoping to raise $450 in donations for the new camera. If you are interested, or know anyone else who might be interested in donating to our new camera please just click the golden donate button on the right hand side of the site. Any amount helps… If everyone who visited the site donated a dollar, the camera would be paid for in a day.
We just received our first donation for the camera and are now $20 closer to our goal thanks to a generous reader of the blog.
We appreciate your continued support.
